Passed away Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018. Geneva was born March 14, 1927 in Hurley, KY the daughter of the late Leonard and Clara (Hurley) Gabbard. She was employed for 10 years with Shakespears in Kalamazoo and enjoyed camping, and spending time with her family and friends. On October 24, 1953 she was united in marriage to her loving husband John, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2015. Geneva was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Berry. She is survived by her son, Steven (Jane) Opra; 2 grandchildren, Marilla Opra and Daniel Opra; 2 sisters, Gladys Selder, Thelma Hamilton; and 2 nieces, Karen and Yvonne. There will be no visitation or services. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Great Lakes Hospice.
