Dean passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence at the age of 90. He was born on June 24, 1927 in Lansing, MI a son of the late Carroll and Cleo (Swagart) Fiedler. Dean served in the US Army during the Korean War. He taught band and directed music in several locations across Michigan. Dean was a member of the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife, Mae Fiedler of Battle Creek; three stepchildren Janet (Wes) Shooks of Kankakee, IL, Marcia (Doug) Hall of Kalamazoo and Rhea (Terry) Walker of Battle Creek; five step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Mark (Milly) Fiedler, Chester (Jean) Fiedler, Robert (Lila) Fiedler, James (Anne) Fiedler and Joyce (Herbert) Hamlin. Services will be held at 12Noon on Sunday, June 3rd at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street in Kalamazoo. Private burial services will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence or the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene.
