Charlene Ann Crouch died Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Upjohn Community Care Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and her parents were Carl and Vera Schultz. Char grew up on Pretty Lake in Mattawan and attended State High. In 1956, Char married Larry Omar Christian (deceased in 2006) and had three daughters. In 1977, Char married Bernard Crouch (deceased in 2011). Char was a vibrant and energetic woman with many talents. She enjoyed arts and crafts and sewing. Char worked as a legal secretary, EMT, and a home health aide. She had a genuine love and compassion to always help those in need. Char was involved with the Red Hat Society. Char was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Schultz; and a grandson, Andrew Beeman. Char was a loving mother to her 3 daughters and 2 step-children who survive her; Diana Lee (Gary) Hardenbrook, Denise Ann (James) Fairbrother, Darcy Marie Gray, Leanna Albrecht, and Michael (Virginia) Crouch. Char was a wonderful and loving grandma to 8 grandchildren and great-grandma to 14. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 1-2PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where services will begin at 2PM. Interment in Schoolcraft Township Vicksburg Cemetery will follow services. Memorials may be directed to the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
