Ann L. Kranenborg

August 9, 1925 — July 23, 2018

Ann (Hindriks) Kranenborg (August 9, 1925-July 23, 2018), a woman of strong faith, found her greatest joy in walking with her Lord through every circumstance of her life. Born in Appingedam in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands, she immigrated to Canada with her groom in 1952 and eventually settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1956, where they lived until she and her husband moved to Grand Rapids in 2015. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ann loved her God, her family, and her church. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, and her precious grandson Paul Buursma. She is survived by her children Andy and Sandy Kranenborg of Chicago, Harriet and Dirk Buursma of Grand Rapids, Debbie and Phil Hall of Grand Rapids, and Linda and Dwayne Betcher of West Olive, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Brian and Miranda Kranenborg, Amy Kranenborg, and Steven and Krysta Kranenborg (Kenna, Kate, and Case); Nate Buursma and Abby and Tim Slager; Justin Hall and Zachary Hall; and Joe and Katie Betcher (William) and Alisha and Chad Morris (Lyra). She is also survived by three siblings in the Netherlands: Harm Hindriks, Gretha Wiersum, and Reina Palsma. Funeral services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, with visitation an hour before the service. Private interment at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park South. The family suggests memorial gifts to Second Christian Reformed Church, Kalamazoo; Friendship Ministries; or the charity of your choice.
