Elton Travis Lang

December 24, 1925 ~ October 29, 2018 (age 92)
Elton Travis Lang, age 92, of Three Rivers, MI made a peaceful journey home to be with the Lord with his family by his side on October 29, 2018. Elton was born in Hillsboro, AL, the son of Elmer and Ruby Lang, on December 24, 1925. He moved to Kalamazoo at the age of 19, where he met and married the love of his life, Flossie (McAfee) Lang who has been his best friend, devoted wife and helpmate. They would celebrate 70 years of marriage on November 6th. Elton retired with over 38 years of faithful service from Eaton Transmissions in Kalamazoo and went on to spend over 30 years wintering in Ft. Myers, FL where they enjoyed picnics and walks on the beach, shuffle board, and socializing with family and friends. They also spent summers at the lake at Klines Resort where they enjoyed boating, fishing, block parties with neighbors, playing cards and other activities. He had a love for fishing, gardening and working in the yard for hours. He also was a loyal and faithful fan of his grandchildren's sports as they were growing up, and was a huge Alabama football fan. He was also a long-time member of Disciples of Christ Church and then Vicksburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Flossie Lang; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Kevin Burke of Kalamazoo; and three precious grandchildren, Travis Burke of Los Angeles; Tyler Burke of Dallas, and Madison Burke of Scottsdale, a brother Ellis Lang of Jasper, TN, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Keith Lang, and his brothers and sisters, Floyd Lang, Marie Meyers, Elmer Lang, Fran Gren, Oliver Lang, and Brenda Hovater. The family would like to thank Great Lakes Caring Hospice as well as the wonderful help of their caregivers. The family will greet friends at Vicksburg United Methodist Church, 217 S. Main St., Vicksburg, MI 49097 for a visitation on Friday, November 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm, with a 12:00 noon service, followed by a luncheon. A private burial will take place at Mt.
