Portage, Michigan Passed away Monday, August 11, 2008. He was born February 12, 1947 in Chicago, a son of Henry and Julia Aughinbaugh Barthel and had lived in Portage the past 3 years. During the Viet Nam Conflict, he served his country in the US Army. Wayne is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Dawn Darrin Kwasniewski of Portage and Heather Mark Pownell of Portage; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Brayden, Dakotah and Arianne Kwasniewski and Jalen, Jared and Ian Pownell; 2 brothers; 5 sisters; many nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Third Reformed Church, 2345 N. 10th St., with Rev.
