Valeria Nielsen-Baldwin

NIELSEN-BALDWIN, Valeria Valeria passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on December 18, 1920 in Menomonie, WI, the daughter of Robert and Caroline Adams. Valeria graduated from Menomonie High School and Henry Ford Hospital. She worked as a registered nurse at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI for almost 20 years until her retirement in 1976. Valeria was active in Eastern Star where she became Worthy Matron. She volunteered at Portage United Methodist Church now Pathfinder Church, where she was a longtime member. Valeria enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and all 50 states. She was a very loving, caring and giving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her husband of 47 years, Jann Pelle Nielsen; husband of 12 years, J. Marvin Baldwin; five siblings and many friends and other relatives. Surviving are her three children, Marie John Elverum, Carolyn Webb and Jann Pat Nielsen; six grandchildren, Kirsten Burnett Brown, Sean Melinda Webb, Carrie William D'Agostino Nielsen, Kristian Jenn Elverum, Tony Roxanne Webb, Adam Christa Nielsen; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and Baldwin relatives. A memorial service to celebrate Valeria's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Inurnment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pathfinder Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
