Todd Stermer

STERMER, Todd Of Lawrence Passed away suddenly Sunday January 7, 2007. Todd was born November 22, 1964 in Kalamazoo the son of Hilmer and Sandra Burke Stermer. He was a graduate of Portage Northern High School and KVCC. Todd loved coaching children in their various sports, which included baseball, softball, basketball and football. He was also a high school official in several sports. Todd enjoyed hunting, carpentry, and building his own house. He was a real handyman that could fix anything. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Hilmer and a brother, Brock. On August 7, 1993 he was united in marriage to the former Linda Pierce, who survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Trenton, Trevor, and Cory Stermer, Brittany and Ashley Gibson; his mother, Sandra Stermer; brother and sisters, Brad Stermer, Kathy John Martone, Kelly Stermer; mother and father-in-law, Martee Hank Bakhuyzen; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Todd?s life will be held 1:30 Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Buddy Turner officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday evening from 4-8pm at the Portage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Stermer Family through Fifth Third Bank.
