Tena Bouma

Kalamazoo, MI Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 25, 2009. Tena was born August 24, 1917 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John W. and Oktje Zelvius Bouma and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Portage, the First Reformed Church Dorcas Society and had retired from the Upjohn Company after 31 years of service. Tena was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jacob Gertie Bouma, William Cornelia Bouma and Peter Martha Bouma; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen Albert VandeStreek. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Pastor Mike Drew officiating. Interment will follow in Central Portage Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
