formerly of Kalamazoo, MI Sue died early Wednesday morning, March 14, 2012, at her home in Englewood, FL. She was born July 22, 1920, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Herman and Bertha Menninga Franke. In 1942, Sue was united in marriage with John Schoonbeck who preceded her in death on May 10, 1983. Also preceding her in death were a grandson, Chad Green; her parents; two brothers, Henry and Ted Franke; and sister-in-law, Marion Franke. Surviving are: three children, Sharon Schoonbeck of North Port, FL, Carol Green of North Port, FL and John Howard Schoonbeck of Englewood, FL; two grandchildren, Chantell and Shawn Green; great-granddaughter, Alexis Green; two brothers, Herm Janet Franke Jr. of Portage and Bill Marion Franke of Fruitland Park, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Franke of Kalamazoo and numerous nieces and nephews. Private graveside services were held in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Tidewell Hospice, 12034 N. Access Rd. Port Charlotte, FL 33981. Arrangements were made by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
