Sally Loher

May 9, 1904 — December 5, 2007

LOHER, Sally
Kalamazoo Mrs. Loher passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2007 in Kalamazoo. She was born May 9, 1904 in Vicksburg, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Grace Allen LeDuc. Preceding her in death is her husband Wert D. Loher on March 14, 1984. Sally was one of 5 sisters all of whom preceded her in death and spent some of her formative years in Colorado, and leaves numerous nieces and nephews who live out west. Sally had no children of her own but she cared for her developmentally disabled brother-in-law, Jacob Loher, for almost 40 years. Sally had many talents. For a number of years she operated a beauty shop in downtown Kalamazoo. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was an avid reader. In her 80?s she took up painting and was an active member and volunteer at St. Augustine Cathedral Parish. Sally was a fiercely independent person and showed flashes of her spunkiness to her last days. She had a generous and caring spirit and was a person of deep faith. She had a smile that could melt an iceberg. Sally will be missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday at St. Augustine Cathedral, 542 W. Michigan Ave. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Augustine Cathedral. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, www.langelands.com , 343-1508.
