Ruth Hutchins

Passsed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at her residence. Ruth was born October 25, 1920 in Gobles, MI, the daughter of Charles and Doris Hewitt Bradley and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a homemaker and loved baking and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed working in her beautiful garden in the back yard and spending time with her family. On March 19, 1937, she was united in marriage to Gorden Hutchins, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney Hutchins; brother, Duane Bradley; and sister, Joyce Brownell. Surviving are her children, Doris Mert Frost, Gorden Janet Hutchins; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister and brother, Lucille Kizer, Jerry Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St., with Paul Joles officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest North Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 at the Westside Chapel.
