Kalamazoo Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, RoseMarie passed away Monday, January 28, 2008. She was born June 8, 1935 in Hastings, MI the daughter of Carl and Louise Contino Rogers and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. She was a member of Texas Corners Bible Church, made porcelain dolls and crocheted small baby bonnets for Neo-Natal departments. She always had a smile, no matter how hard the situation she was in. On August 16, 1975, she married Otto Koomans, who survives. Rose is also survived by her mother, Louise Rogers of Battle Creek; her children, Lawrence Kimberly Hickman of Galesburg, Kathy Dwight Palmer of Galesburg and Susan Hickman of Mattawan; a step-son, Otto Koomans, Jr. of Marysville, CA; 5 grandchildren, Leann Palmer, James Palmer, Sarah Wells, Matthew Wells and Laura Rebec; a great granddaughter, Alahna Rebec; two brothers, Robert Dianne Rogers of East Leroy and James Helen Rogers of Battle Creek; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; a son, James Hickman; and a brother, William Rogers. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Texas Corners Bible Church, located at 7780 South 8th Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009.
