MYERS, Robert James
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Monday, October 15, 2012. Robert was born March 15, 1928 in Kalamazoo, the son of Frederick and Wilhelmina Schroeder Myers and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. He worked as a letter carrier for the Post Office for over 30 years. Robert enjoyed playing baseball many years ago and watching baseball on television in later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Fred Myers and his sister, Eleanor Myers. Robert is survived by a niece, Arden Shaw; 3 nephews, Michael Myers, David Myers and Brian Myers; cousins, Art Myers, Beverly Van Oostrum, Melanie Perry and Willi Mills. A special thank you to the staff of Gloria's Place for their special care of Robert. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Rev. John Hill, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday, prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Ministry With Community.
