of Climax, MI Passed away Thursday evening, October 18, 2012. Dick was born November 6, 1922 in Fulton, MI the son of Leo and Ellen Case VanMiddlesworth and had been a lifelong resident in the Climax area. He farmed all of his life and was a lifelong member of the Masons. Dick enjoyed traveling around the country in his motor home with his wife Mary; spending winters in Florida, and trips to Alaska. On November 11, 1950 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Mary Chapman, who preceded him in death on February 17, 2006. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Marilyn, Frieda, Margaret, Leon, Frank, and Stanley. Surviving are his sons, Rodney Sue VanMiddlesworth, Dennis Sandy VanMiddlesworth; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; his companion, Marilyn Sutfin; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple. Interment will follow in Gilson Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Sunday today from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Monday from 10-11 at the Climax Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Leroy Congregational Church.
