DeYOUNG, Richard
of Kalamazoo, Michigan On Thursday, August 14, 2014 Richard passed away at his home. He was born June 2, 1942 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of John and Mildred DeYoung. Rich served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from July of 1962 until honorably discharged in July of 1965. He was stationed in Germany. On July 2, 1982 he was united in marriage to Paulette Egan, who survives. He was a machinist at Parker Hannifin and retired in 2007 after 19 years. Rich was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed his Koi fish pond, gardening, shooting at the range, vacationing in Las Vegas and metal detecting. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice and brother Jon. Also surviving is his daughter, Ashley Dominique Storey, and granddaughter, Camille, who brought a huge smile to his face and a sparkle in his eyes. There will be no visitation, a private interment has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
