Of Kalamazoo, MI Ray passed away Thursday morning, June 25, 2009 at his home. He was born April 14, 1926 in Kalamazoo, one of three children to Henry and Edith Menck Pyle. Ray was employed by Durametallic for 41 years until his retirement. On February 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Pauline Carver, who survives. Also surviving are their 2 children, Kathy Neighbours of Portage, and Robert Karen Pyle of Gulfport, MS; 4 grandchildren, Scott Neighbours, Sarah Greg Schermerhorn, Ryan Neighbours, and Trey Kelsey Pyle; sister-in-law, Mildred Pyle of Richland; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Evelyn Dykstra; and brother, Lawrence Pyle. Funeral services for Ray will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd., with Rev. Larry Brelje officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 PM on Sunday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private entombment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
