Portage Passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 5, 2015. Pietra was born January 13, 1924 in San Giuseppe Jato, Sicily, Italy the daughter of Giuseppe and Nicolina Barone Pullarã. Pietra was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very giving person and was loved by all who knew her. She worked for many years as a seamstress with Edwards Kazoo and attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In October of 1943 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 62 years, Vincenzo Matranga, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Francesca Pullarã. She is survived by her children, Carmela Joseph Renda, Gaspare G. Vincenza Matranga, Nicolina Cameron Lambe; grandchildren, Francesca Franco Impellizzeri, Pierina Tim Boyle, Vincenzo Amy Renda, Kimberley Chris Bishop, Piera Bob Fagaly, Caterina Joe Caringella, David Mandy Lambe; great-grandchildren, Giuseppina, Carmelina, Giovanna, Mariella Impellizzeri, Sean, Gabrielle, Accalia, Olivia, Madison Boyle, Julia and Anthony Fagaly, Reese and Bryce Lambe, and Vito Caringella; 2 sisters, Giuseppina and Santina Pullarã; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, May 11 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Pastor Barry Petrucci officiating. Interment will follow in Portage Central Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Sunday, May 10 from 4-7pm and Monday from 10-10:45 at the Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Disability Network Southwest Michigan Youth in Transition Program.
