Of Portage Passed away Sunday morning, February 15, 2009. Nancy was born October 16, 1912 in Uithuizermeeden, The Netherlands the daughter of Jakob and Elisabeth Van Der Laan Medendorp. On May 18, 1934 she was united in marriage to Claus Peterman who preceded her in death on May 1, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Harm Peterman; sons-in-law, Dick Shaw and Robert Werner. Surviving are 5 children, Jacob Phyllis Peterman, Bertha Norm Kingsley, Betsy Werner, Frank Linda Peterman, Angie Shaw; daughter-in-law, Vi Ike VerHage; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no services or visitation. Private family interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
