Maxwell Schuyler

SCHUYLER, Maxwell ?Max? of Augusta Passed away September 23, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Augusta. Max was born September 12, 1916 in Hopkins, MI., to the late Frank L. and Ethel Carey Schuyler. He was united in marriage to Wyoma Newman, on December 14, 1951, in Otsego. Wyoma survives. Max was proud to have served in the military, 1st in the US Army during WWII, from June of 1941 through October of 1945 and then in the active US Air Force as a Master Sergeant, from February of 1951 until honorably discharged in March of 1952. He completed his military service in 1976 from the Air National Guard, as a Senior Master Sergeant, in the inactive reserves. Among his awards received were, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and WWII Victory Medal. Max was a member of the Berean Baptist Church since 1968. He was also a life-member of the VFW. His family came before all else but golf was also greatly enjoyed when there was time. Surviving him are his; children, Patricia Ann Robert Stube of Allegan, Max Dennis Nancy Schuyler of Watertown WI, Kevin Schuyler of Augusta and Todd Caroline Schuyler of Paw Paw; daughter-in-law, Patty Jo Schuyler;14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were; son, Larry Schuyler; brother, Ford Schuyler, and; sister, Frances Crothers. Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo and also on Thursday, the 27th at church, 1 hour prior 10 ? 11:00 to service. Funeral service will be held, Thursday, September 27th, 11:00 AM at the Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th St., Portage, Pastors Mike Eleveld and Will Davis, officiating. Interment following at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed in Max?s name to the Berean Baptist Church or Heritage Christian Academy.
