Formerly of Saginaw Mary Scott passed away early Sunday morning, August 12, 2007, at The Springs at Bronson Place. She was born November 28, 1925 in Chesaning, MI, one of four children to Earl and Mary Cook Aelick. Mary was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Saginaw for many years and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo. On August 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to Harold E. Scott at Ft. Lewis in Tacoma, WA, who preceded her in death on February 7, 2006. Also preceding her in death are her parents, one sister and one brother. Surviving are: three daughters, Deborah Jeffery Schatzer of Midland, MI, Chrisanne Marc Pashby of Three Rivers, MI and Pamela Jo Dick VanVliet of Grandville, MI; eleven grandchildren, Scott Karen Schatzer, Amy Nate Crosslin, Jessica Dan Miles, Zachery Bolla, Lisa Pashby, Christine Pashby, Nicholas Emily Funk, Mugsy Brad Wind, Timothy JoAnne VanVliet, Sarah Brian Roelofs, and Margaret Brian Kerkstra; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. Duane Aelick of Seymour, IN. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, in the auditorium of The Fountains at Bronson Place, 1700 Bronson Way. Pastor David Sidwell will officiate. A reception will follow the service. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
