HILL, Mary Blanche
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Tuesday evening May 29, 2012. Blanche was born November 13, 1909 in a farmhouse near Novelty, Missouri. She was the only child of Lawrence and Jennie Everette Vanlandingham Howerton. Blanche received her Bachelor's Degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College Truman University and her Master's Degree from Northern Illinois University. Her forty year teaching career began in a rural one room school in Missouri and concluded at Harlem High School in Loves Park, Illinois. Two of her favorite teaching experiences were in the High Schools of LaPrarie and Golden, Illinois. She has been a Kalamazoo resident since 1981 and an active participant in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lee William Dimond; four grandchildren, Ann Bryan Wiseman, Susan Alan Tempin, Thomas Joleen Dimond, and Nancy Phillip Sawyer; seven great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. There will be no visitation. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the your choice. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
