Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Thursday afternoon, December 18, 2008. Marlene was born April 23, 1935 in Ft. Wayne, IN the daughter of Hymen and Amanda Goldberg. On April 9, 1955 she was united in marriage to Lyle Reits, Jr. who preceded her in death on October 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother, David Goldberg; and step-father, Verne Soule. Surviving are her children, Marcia Bowman of Kalamazoo, Mark Susan Reits of Georgia; 4 grandchildren, Brian of Kalamazoo, Shane in Vermont, and Jennifer and Kevin in Georgia; 8 great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald Ilene Goldberg of Arizona; sister-in-law, Jean Goldberg of Montana; and several nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws. There will be no visitation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
