KOSTER, Lucy
Kalamazoo Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Age 96. Lucy is now in her eternal home with Jesus. Lucy was born on January 29, 1919 in Kalamazoo to Henry and Grace Kuiper Schipper. She was a lifelong member of Centerpoint Church Third Reformed. She worked in several offices in the Kalamazoo area, and retired from the Hercules Corporation in 1981. On June 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to Julius Koster, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William Schipper, Henry Schipper and Ebo Schipper; her sisters, Elsie Weener and Grace Loveless; and a daughter, Judy Koster. She is survived by two daughters, Eunice Koster and Marian James Pridgeon, both of Kalamazoo and a son, Henry Stephanie Koster of Redmond, WA; grandchildren, Matthew Pridgeon, Emily Pridgeon, Michael Pridgeon, Jacqueline Ryan Pearman, Daniel Alyssa Koster and Steven Koster; great- grandchildren, Greyson Pearman and Maddox Pearman; her sister, Jennie Schreuder; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where a celebration of Lucy's life also will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015 with Pastor Dar VanderWal officiating. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lucy's name may be directed to the Kalamazoo Christian School Association, Hospice Care of Southwest Ml or Centerpoint Church.
