Liesma Krautmanis

Kalamazoo Passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 in Kalamazoo. Liesma was born March 24, 1929 in Gulbene, Latvia, the daughter of the late Peteris and Pauline Grinvalds Mikass, and lived in Kalamazoo since 1951. She was a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo, the Kalamazoo Latvian Association and was a retired laboratory technician. On December 24, 1951, she married Gunars Krautmanis, who preceded her in death on February 5, 1988. Liesma is survived by her sons, Modris Metra Krautmanis and Agris Marianne Krautmanis; her grandchildren, Lia Krautmanis, Andra Krautmanis, Lara Krautmanis, Erik Krautmanis and Kristina Krautmanis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo, 122 Cherry Hill, Kalamazoo. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the church beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery of Kalamazoo. Donations in Liesma's honor may be made to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo or the Kalamazoo Latvian Heritage Center.
