Lena Kaiser

KAISER, Lena Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007. She was born April 10, 1921 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Mary Van Sweden Ver Sluis and had been a resident of Kalamazoo until moving to Portage Lake in 1965 and returning to Kalamazoo in 2000, to live at Friendship Village. She was a member of the West Mendon United Methodist Church. On June 12, 1941 she married Herbert D. Kaiser, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1989. She was also preceded by her parents. Lena is survived by her daughter, Linda Roger Swing of Henderson, NV; her son, Wayne Claudia Mierau Kaiser of Benton Harbor; her grandchildren, Denise Busch, Kimberly Morris and Kelly Zaidan; and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Rev. Debra Basham, officiating. A private family interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Employee Appreciation Fund, c/o Friendship Village, 1400 N. Drake Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49006 or the charity of one?s choice .
