Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Wednesday evening April 9, 1908. Lawrence was born August 3, 1918 in Tyler, Missouri a son of Charles and May Pullen Brigance. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with K.V.P. Sutherland Company for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Masonic Lodge. Following his retirement, he loved traveling, bowling, and dancing with his wife Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marie Brigance on October 31, 1984; and several brothers. In October of 1999, he was united in marriage to Eleanor M. Taylor Brigance who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Melanie Rodney Nagel of Richland, Larry Scott Brenda Brigance of Delton, and Shelley Lynn Wall of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren, Lacey and John Nagel, Kyle and Keith Brigance, and Greg and Lynsey Wall; 2 great-grandchildren, Allison and Brooklyn; 2 sisters, Margaret Hamilton of Kalamazoo and Eva Lou Hoskins of Steele, MO; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
