MEDENDORP, Lambert
Of Kalamazoo, MI Lambert passed away Tuesday morning, February 24, 2009 at the home of Larry and Martena. He was born December 12, 1913 in Osceola, MI, the son of Joseph and Jennie Rozeveld Medendorp. Lambert was employed by Clarage Fan Co. for 37 years until his retirement; and also worked part-time at Daleiden and Carlton Equipment. Lambert was a member of Milwood Christian Reformed Church where he served at deacon and Sunday school teacher. On October 11, 1940, he was united in marriage to Rena DeYoung. Preceding him in death were his wife, Rena Medendorp; 1 son, Ronald Medendorp as a child; his parents; and 7 brothers and sisters, Laura Medendorp as an infant, Henry Medendorp, Evert Medendorp, Lottie Bunning, Albert Medendorp, Wilbert Medendorp, and Corneil Medendorp as an infant. Surviving are 3 children, Larry Martena Medendorp, Stanley Medendorp, and Carol Alan Burd all of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Luke Robin Turner Medendorp of Gobles, Brian Julie Medendorp or Nashville, TN, Sarah Matt VanderMeer of Grand Rapids, and Darla Dustin Nogle of Plainwell; 4 great-grandsons, Zachary, Camden, Andrew, and Cameron; 4 sisters, Susie Vlietstra of Kalamazoo, Grace DeKoekKoek of Parchment, Anna Zinger of Reed City, and Alice Ackley of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Lambert will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Milwood Christian Reformed Church, 3306 Lovers Lane, with Pastor Loren Kotman officiating. Interment will be in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 PM on Sunday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Milwood CRC - Media Ministry.
