Klasina Dammer

May 27, 1932 — May 11, 2007

DAMMER, Klasina
Of Kalamazoo Klasina Dammer, age 83, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones and care givers. Mrs. Dammer was born on May 27, 1923 to Peter and Wilhelmina Molenaar in Kalamazoo, shortly after her parents immigrated to the U.S. from The Netherlands. Her parents preceded her in death. She was a lifelong
Kalamazoo resident and a 1941 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She also attended Meyers Business School. Klasina worked at Kalamazoo Stationary and Durametallic Corporation now Flowserve until her retirement in 1993. Upon retirement, she was a frequent and faithful
volunteer at the Kalamazoo office of Habitat for Humanity for more than 10 years. She also spent many mornings at the YMCA and at breakfast and lunch with many dear friends. Klasina married John Sievert Dammer on November 22, 1957. Her husband, one brother and one sister all preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Markham of Davidson, NC and a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kim Dammer of Galesburg. She also leaves 4 loving grandchildren, Corey and Chris Markham of Davidson, NC and Emily and Ross Dammer of Galesburg. Klasina was an active member of Second Reformed Church and took a
special interest in the lives of those around her. When meeting someone new, she'd learn their entire life history before they parted. She loved to travel including Europe and Asia. She was an expert knitter and made a scrumptious coconut cream pie She often shared these talents with her family and friends. She will be missed greatly but we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her family that has gone before her. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Second Reformed Church 2323 Stadium Drive with Rev. Ralph Robrahn and Rev. Charles Doornbos officiating. Interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to Kalamazoo Valley Habitat for Humanity, or Second Reformed Church. www.langelands.com 269-343-1508
