and Leesburg, FL Julie passed away Monday, April 25, 2011. She was born January 3, 1918, in Russelton, PA, and had resided at Crossroads Village in Portage for over 10 years. On June 4, 1937, Julie was united in marriage to John A. Menlen. They raised their family in Detroit. Following John's retirement, they lived in Florida for more than 25 years before moving back to Michigan to be closer to family. Surviving are her 3 sons, John Cynthia of Macomb, MI, Brian Barbara of Portage, MI and Dennis Barbara of Troy, MI; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Agnes Turi of Erie, PA. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services for Julie will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Portage United Church of Christ, 2731 W. Milham Avenue, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Oberle. Interment will be in Portage Central Cemetery. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel.
