Joyce Waldorf

WALDORF, Joyce of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012. She was born July 14, 1941 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Gabert and Irene Angel Tolmacs and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School and attended WMU. She had worked at AAA from 1961-1963, worked at Michigan Mutual from 1963-1970 and at K Valley Orthopedics from 1975 - 2011. She was married in 1961 and divorced in 1994. In 2009, she married George Waldorf, who survives. She is also survived by her son, Daniel V.Hopkins; a grandson, Jacob Hopkins; two brothers, Alfred Barbara Tolmacs of Grants Pass, OR and John Tolmacs of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Mary Richard Gibbs of Scotts and Debbie Richard Grosser of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews. She helped raise her grandson, enjoyed bowling, fishing and softball. She also loved watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions, Michigan State, WMU and Galesburg - Augusta teams. She loved and was devoted to her family and her extended family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. Interment will follow in Boughton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, 1400 W. Milham, Portage, MI 49024.
