MEYERS, Joseph "Jack"
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Jack passed away Sunday morning, July 12, 2009 at his home. He was born May 21, 1926 in Kalamazoo, one of two sons to Joseph and Blanche VanderWeele Meyers. Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was employed by Dunkley Co. for 25 years, then owned and operated Industrial Sales and Grinding for 12 years until his retirement in 1988. Jack was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. On September 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Trena A. Mejeur in Kalamazoo. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Trena Meyers; their 3 daughters, Shirley Hervé Recipon of San Francisco, CA, Carol Kenneth Meyers of Grand Rapids, and Priscilla Bagley of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Lisa Bagley of Kalamazoo, and Brad Jessica Bagley of Augusta; great-granddaughter, Jadie Rose Bagley; brother, William Roselyn Meyers of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; and granddog, Gunner. Preceding him in death were his parents; and 1 grandson, Mark Bagley; and 3 granddogs, Chelsea, Griz, and Chip. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at 12:00 noon with memorial services following at 1:00 PM at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Road, with Rev. Dr. Warren Lammers and Rev. Dr. Cecil Martens officiating. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Second Christian Reformed Church - Building Fund or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
