Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014. Johnny was born December 10, 1932 in Omar, WV, the son of the late Charlie and Chattie Damron Collins. He lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years and worked for the Eaton Corp. for 26 years. He was also a bowler and was very proud of his woodworking projects. On August 18, 1956, he married Mary Jones, who survives. Johnny is also survived by their sons, Ricky Chris Collins of Springtown, TX and Greg Jo Collins of Battle Creek, MI; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Beatrice and Magdelina; 7 brothers, Orville, Arthur, Ora, Huley, Charles, Jr., Edward and Woodrow. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Rev. Richard Collins, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest, North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
