John Dolliver

DOLLIVER, Mr. John Portage Passed away Friday, February 23, 2007, at his home. John was born in June of 1943, in Seattle, WA, a son of Paul and Doloris Dolliver. He entered the US Navy in 1961, served on the USS Comstock in Vietnam and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1965. For the next 35 years John worked as a heavy duty diesel mechanic for various mining companies. In 2005, he and his wife moved to Portage to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. On December 23, 1967, he was united in marriage with his wife Bonnie, who survives. Also surviving are: a daughter Suzanne David Sloan of Schoolcraft; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Janalyn, McKenna and Connor Sloan; a ?granddaughter on loan?, Joohei Yoon; a great-granddaughter, Cali Sheldon; mother, Doloris Virgo; brother, Gayle Dolliver; sister, Paula Dolliver; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation or services. Private interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be held later. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave.
