Died Monday evening March 5, 2018. John was born September 6, 1959 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Raymond and Jean (Short) Bennett. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. John was preceded in death by his parents. On August 8, 2009, he was united in marriage to Cara L. (McCallum) Bennett who survives. Also surviving, his step mother, Glenna Bennett of Three Rivers; siblings, Kellee (Jackson) Pierce of Kalamazoo, Denise (Tim) Town of Buckeye, AZ, Barry and Terry Reber, and Kirby (Sally) Reber all of Three Rivers, Kelly (Cindy) Reber of California, and Robbyn Candleria of Three Rivers; a brother-in-law, Jeff (Paula) McCallum of Battle Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
