Formerly of Kalamazoo Died Thursday afternoon June 10, 2010. JoAnne was born January 6, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Herman and Conant Brown Johnson. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident before moving to Grand Rapids in 2007. She was a member of the Westwood United Methodist Church and volunteered at Bronson Hospital for over 50 years. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Henry Clapp; and a brother, William Johnson. She is survived by 2 daughters, Susan and Judith Clapp, both of Grand Rapids; a sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25 at the Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Rd. in Kalamazoo. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Westwood United Methodist Church. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Cascade for the loving care of JoAnne.
