Jennie Nufer

NUFER, Jennie Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007. She was born January 11, 1926 in Litchfield, SD, the daughter of Anthony and Priscilla Post Verbeek and had been a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She was a member of the Hope Reformed Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She loved sewing and was a good seamstress, trained dogs and loved camping. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley John Nufer in 2000; and her sister, Dorothy Tarbell. Surviving are her children, Jim Debbie Nufer of Paw Paw, Judi Schonacher of Hickory Corners, Larry Nufer of Kalamazoo and Tim Nufer of Cooper; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Nufer of FL and Lindsay Rich Hiler of Paw Paw; a great granddaughter, Corinne Hiler; and a brother, Tony Harriet Verbeek of Portage. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Kent Frens officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hope Reformed Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
