DYKSTRA, Mrs. Jean
Of Kalamazoo Went home to be with her Lord, December 25, 2007, on her 77th birthday. Jean was born December 25, 1930 in Portage, Michigan, the daughter of Ebel and Henrietta Weessies Mulder and has been a lifelong area resident.
She was an active member of the Second Christian Reformed Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. On January 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Andrew Dykstra who survives. Also surviving are a son, Douglas Laurie Dykstra of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Christina Todd Madden, Jason Gilde and Jessica Gilde; a great-grandson, Zeke Madden; brothers and sisters, Grace Robert Scott of Kalamazoo, Peter Francis Mulder of Kentucky, Bennett Jeanne Mulder of Parchment and Evelyn Jack Wenke of Plainwell; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street and at the church one hour prior to services. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Second Christian Reformed Church 3015 Nichols Rd.. Interment will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
