Janis Rubenis

RUBENIS, Janis Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday April 14, 2007 at Borgess Nursing Home following a short illness. He was born May 5, 1926 in Latvia to Janis and Minna Rubenis, who preceded him death. Jan immigrated to the United States at the age of 26 where he quickly joined the United States Marine Corps and became a U.S. citizen. While living in Kalamazoo, Jan was employed as a machinist. Jan is survived by long-time friends Gail Grohs, Starr Amparano and her children, Christian and Alixandria, and Dan Debbie Grohs and their children, Kristopher, Kasey, and Kenzie. There will be no visitation, and a graveside service will be held 12:00 o?clock Friday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors meet at 11:50 in assembly area. Memorials may be directed to the Borgess Nursing Home.
