Kalamazoo Imogene passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Adair County, Kentucky, to Carl and Beulah Chelf Bottom; they moved to Lansing when Imogene was a child. She was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Lansing for 35 years until her retirement. While living in Lansing, she attended Penway Church of God. In 1967, she was married to Raymond Hart. After her retirement, they then moved to Pentwater, where Imogene resided for about 15 years, before moving to Kalamazoo. She was presently a member of Westwood Church of God in Kalamazoo. Surviving are one brother, Maurice Sherrie Bottom of Raytown, MO; 3 nieces, D'Anne Dick Brown Nightingale, Lynette Keith Bailey, and Cheryl Richard Jordan; 1 nephew, Mark Kathy Nightingale; and 5 grandnieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband, Raymond in 1985; her parents; 1 brother, Kenneth Bottom; and 1 sister, Marjorie Nightingale. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Westwood Church of God.
