SCHOLTEN, HILDA
COMSTOCK Hilda went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, May 13, 2015. She was born on April 17, 1926 in The Netherlands, the daughter of Bonne and Magdelena Vos Van Dam. Hilda had several jobs throughout her life, but her favorite job was babysitting many different children, where she was fondly referred to by many as "Grandma Hilda". Surviving are two sons, Neal Lynne Scholten of Kalamazoo, and William Lyn Scholten of Galesburg; daughter-in-law, Linda Clyde Thomsen; eight grandchildren, Ben Mary Hilton of Battle Creek, Daniel Sarah Scholten of Kalamazoo, Diane Randy Norris, David Samantha Scholten of Kalamazoo, Stacy Dave Thomas, Kyle Scholten, Lisa Colby Wilson, Eric Carrie Scholten; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Atkins; sister-in-law, Muriel Van Dam; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son, Ben J. Scholten; parents; brother, Klaus Van Dam; and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 18, at Comstock Christian Reformed Church, 5300 Comstock Avenue, with Pastor Ben Hulst officiating. Following the church luncheon, interment will be in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may visit with Hilda's family from 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 17, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Memorial contributions may be directed to Comstock Christian Reformed Church or Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
