Formerly of Kalamazoo Henry passed away early Thursday morning, February 28, 2008. He was born November 8, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Peter and Lena Heystek Clapp. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was employed by Miller-Davis Construction Co. in Kalamazoo for 38 years, until his retirement, and was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church. On February 16, 1946, he was united in marriage to JoAnne Johnson in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are their 2 daughters, Susan and Judith Clapp, both of Grand Rapids; 1 sister, Connie Bair of Battle Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; and 3 brothers, John, Martin, and Herbert Clapp. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 14, at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Westwood United Methodist Church.
