Of Kalamazoo Peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday morning, January 7, 2013. Henrietta was born February 18, 1919 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Emmo and Tina Mejeur Sportel and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a faithful member of Second Christian Reformed Church; and a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. On March 28, 1940 she was united in marriage to Henry Post who preceded her in death on July 23, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a son Russel; an infant grandson, Steven; step-mother Anna; sister and brothers, Anne King, and Henry and Garry Sportel. Surviving are her children, Ruth Ron Eshuis, Mary Jerry DeYoung, Lois Bill Koning, Sara Post daughter in law, Betty Joe Hendriksen John Pam Post, Nancy Steve Klooster, David Cheryl Post; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother and sister, Art Jan Sportel, and Berdine Flamm; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Sportel, Jean Stoneburner, Anne Post, Daisy DeKruyter, Terry Sopjes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at the The Springs at Bronson Place for their loving and compassionate care over the past several years. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Thursday at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd, with Rev. Dr. Warren Lammers officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 10:00-11:00 at the church. Immediately following the service friends may join the family in the reception hall for a luncheon. Memorials may be directed to Second Christian Reformed Church or the Kalamazoo Christian Schools Association. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
