The life journey began May, 26th 1915, Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo MI. Stops along the way include Mills Street, March Street, and Cobb Avenue. On November 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Arthur A. Roobol . After a long residence on Trails End with husband, Arthur (Art) Roobol and two children Carole S. (Roobol) Zinsmaster and Paul A. Roobol, retirement facilitated a move to Kline's Resort at Portage Lake. Reduced mobility necessitated a move to Crossroads Village. Fifteen years passed, until Helen moved into son Paul's home mid-summer. Four and a half months later, Helen was admitted to Bronson Hospital to confirm that many of her bodily systems were simply tired and wearing out. On December 5th mom, sister, grandma, great-grandma arrived into the peaceful, loving care of Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Husband, Arthur, preceded her in death on December 22, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carole S. (Roobol) Zinsmaster in December 1995. Surviving are brother and sister Bill (Donna) Vander Meer and Esther Condon; her son Paul A. (Mary) Roobol; grandchildren Brain (Tracy) Zinsmaster of Scotts, MI, Travis (Jamie) Zinsmaster of Schoolcraft, MI, Hope Roobol (R Daybell) of New York, NY, and Luke Roobol of Greenwood, SC; great-grandchildren Carolynn, Cassidy, Amber, Courtney, Johnathan, and Casey; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday at 12:00pm at the Langland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Phil Kok officiating. Friends may meet the family Monday from 11-12 prior to the service. Helen was a member of Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church. Private interment will be in East Martin Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice or Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church Building Fund.
