BAUMSTARK, Harriet
of Portage, Michigan Harriet Baumstark, age 84, died peacefully on Thursday evening, December 20, 2012, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on February 21, 1928, the youngest of nine children to Richard and Harriet Menninga Brondyke and had been a lifelong area resident. Harriet was a member of Portage United Church of Christ, Portage VFW Post 5855 Auxiliary and numerous bowling leagues. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Baumstark, her parents and seven of her siblings. She is survived by: two children, Barbara Greg Bac of Northville, MI and Michael Baumstark of Waterford, MI; a sister, Frances Brabon of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Services will be held 10:00 Monday morning at the funeral home with Rev. Howard H. "Howie" Tobak, officiating. Private burial services will be held in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials should be directed to the American Cancer Society or Portage United Church of Christ.
