OUDEKERK, Harm
of Portage, Michigan Harm passed away Tuesday morning, February 25, 2014 at Park Place Assisted Living in Kalamazoo. He was born on October 30, 1924 in Nieuwolda, Netherlands, the son of Geert and Eefka Bodde Oudekerk. On January 7, 1955, Harm was united in marriage to the former Geertje "Trudy" Tuin in Oostwold, Netherlands. Harm and Trudy moved to the United States in February 1955, settling in Kalamazoo. Surviving are their six children, Gerry Denise Oudekerk of Kalamazoo, Harvey Linda Oudekerk of Magnolia, TX, Evelyn Chuck Puckett of Portage, Ronald Oudekerk of Clark Lake, Mark Oudekerk of Portage and Tim Heather Oudekerk of Portage; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Chad Thomas, Jessica Oudekerk, Sara Nathan Hurlbert, Nathan Puckett, Ariana Matt Dolan, and Peyten, Annaka, Reyna, Nicholas and Cassidy Oudekerk; two great-grandsons, Blake Thomas and Colten Hurlbert; and extended family in The Netherlands. Preceding him in death were his wife of 47 years, Trudy Oudekerk; his parents; four brothers and one sister. A funeral service for Harm will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 1, at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Road, with Rev. Paul D. Fazio officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM on Friday, Feb. 28, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue.
