Of Portage Passed away Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2011 in Kalamazoo. Gwen was born February 10, 1920, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of LaVerne and Estella Roberts Yingling and has been a lifelong area resident. She was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed mushroom and agate hunting, fishing, also enjoyed puzzles and word searches; but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. On August 8, 1940, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Williams, who preceded her in death on February 11, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and siblings, Robert, Kenneth, Albert Yingling; Jean Eller, Harold Myers. Surviving are 4 children, Shirley Clayton Krieger, Robert Jr. Dolores "Dolly" Williams, Brenda Tessin, Faye Warren Connie Williams; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard Ellen Yingling, Audrey Stephen Martin, Joyce Jerry Sleeman, Ransom Jane Myers, Gerald Myers, Georgiann Stanley Rolfe. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-1 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a service to celebrate Gwen's life will begin at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Bufford Coe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials in Gwen's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
