Passed away at her home on Friday, August 29, 2014. She was born October 16, 1932 in Harlan, KY, the daughter of the late William and Frances Bruce Martin and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. Geraldine had worked for GNC and the Upjohn Company and was a lunch lady at Parchment High School. On January 12, 1985, she married Kenneth Gilmore, who survives. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working in her flower garden. She also loved wood working and eating out with her husband, Ken. Together, they enjoyed long rides, sightseeing, taking photos and eating ice cream. Geraldine is also survived by her children, Dorothy Edward Millard of Diamond, IL, John Harris of Falkville, AL, Fran Scott Shank of Galesburg, Brenda Roberts of Excel, AL, Robin Elliott of Arley, AL and Wayne Julie Roberts, Jr. of Mattawan. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Harris. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Scott Shank, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the East Cooper Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
