George Warner

WARNER, George ?Dick? Portage Mr. Warner passed away Tuesday morning, June 19, 2007 at Tendercare of Portage. He was born August 18, 1923 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Harvey and Clara Youmans Warner. Mr. Warner was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Dick was employed by Upjohn Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1978. He loved model railroading and was a charter member of the Kalamazoo Model Railroad Club. Dick was also a member of the Kalamazoo Geological Society. On August 10, 1946, he married June Frielink, who preceded him in death on March 12, 1970. On January 16, 1971, Dick married Carol Clement Baldridge, who preceded him in death in 1996. Also preceding him in death are his two sisters, Mary Boyce and Esther Vermeulen. Surviving are his two daughters, Brenda Winn of Portage and Connie Jesse Diaz of Fennville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three step-children, Roslyn Goodenough of Allegan, Bruce Baldridge of San Francisco, CA and Brent Julie Baldridge of Kalamazoo. Services for Dick will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment will be in Robinson Cemetery, Gobles. Friends may visit with the family on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Diabetes Foundation.
