Portage Florence Neumann, being a child of God, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 10, 2007. She was the youngest of three daughters, born in Detroit on October 26, 1927 to Giovanni and Marietta Fiorini. She married Henry Neumann of August 16, 1947 and the couple celebrated their 60th anniversary this past August. Florence grew up in Detroit and later, with her husband and family, moved to the Kalamazoo area in 1959. She is survived by her husband, Henry Neumann, 2 sons and 1 daughter, Dr. Nicholas Jean Neumann of Bismarck, ND, Donna Larry Remington of Kalamazoo and Michael Neumann of Denver, CO; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Eride Dante Melotti of Bloomfield Hills, MI; nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by a sister Yolanda Virzi. Florence loved to dance, sing and be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will always remember her for her self-giving love and her gentle touch. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grand nanna. She attended Calvary Chapel of Kalamazoo Valley. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Florence?s life will be held on Friday, November 16 at 11:00 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 2936 S. 9th St. Fellowship and food will follow at The Birches in Oshtemo. Private inurnment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Paw Paw at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Florence?s memory be made to Hospice Care of S.W.
